Memories

Read it again and again Billie, until you finally get it!

  1. In May of 2003, I moved to Hornbrook. The only place I could afford. I was dysfunctional with my back. The only encounters I had with my daughter and family was insulting and abusive. My son asked me, What do you want Mom?
I said I just wanted to stop being abused, I was sick of the pain. Just peace, that's all!
Every Saturday morning since, I have waited for them to drive up. It's never happened and it never will, but every Saturday is the same.

  2. After Daddy died inain 1963 we went in debt burying him and getting the body back from Colorado where we were moving, I couldn't keep Mama out of financial trouble. It was so hard.
I'd come home from school and she had bought something from a door to door salesman. A sewing machine...big ironer.
I walked in when she had just signed a contract to remodel the house. It was a two story duplex. At least we had $40 a month income from the apartment upstairs.. they put the staircase inside, so no more apartment! I ran that guy out of the house with Mama crying. He forced her to honor the contract and it was horrible..a staircase 18 " wide. I got a mattress stuck in it

I don't know how we paid it off . She went to work in nursing homes. I did everything from mowing lawns to selling fuller brush and was still an A student.
I was a damn good kid!
    I did nothing but work!
Then Darrell comes along..he had me catching night crawlers, selling them and giving him the money!
He never spent a cent on me!
Milich said I was an idiot.

Sure was... And that's exactly how he used me too.
It's no wonder I was nothing but a slave to all you people.

    I just want to forge
